Hi there! My name is Nick, and I'm visually impaired. If you're in a similar situation, you've probably noticed that many people enjoy exchanging hilarious GIFs all the time. It can be frustrating when you want to join in on the fun but can't because most GIF apps don't work well with VoiceOver. You end up randomly selecting a GIF based on hashtags or memes without knowing the content you're sending.

I developed this app primarily for myself, but I believe you'll find it incredibly useful as well.

Introducing assistEyes GIF, the first GIF app designed specifically for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. With this app, you can effortlessly browse through thousands of GIFs by using hashtags or a search function. Once you find the perfect GIF, you can easily send it or copy it using the standard iOS share sheet. Plus, all GIFs include descriptive tags that are compatible with VoiceOver. Additionally, you can access the fully accessible GIF library directly within the iOS Messages app through the included iMessage app.

As visual elements like emojis, stickers, and GIFs become more prominent in communication, it's crucial for individuals with visual impairments to be able to participate fully.
